Manufacturing & Quality Check
Documenting fabrication in SquareCoil, recording the completion date, and verifying all items meet standards before they leave the shop.
The Manufacturing section covers what needs to be documented in SquareCoil as the job is being built and when it wraps up. The goal is to make sure SquareCoil stays current so every department has accurate information throughout production. The specific scope of work being manufactured is listed in the Scope of Work section on the physical checklist.

1Photograph the Work and Add Notes to SquareCoilDocument the manufacturing process with in-progress photos and upload them to SquareCoil as the job is being built. Add any relevant notes — material choices, decisions made on the floor, anything the PM or install team would benefit from knowing. Do this as you go, not just at the end. 2Enter All Material Information into SquareCoilEvery material used on the job — quantities, specifications, suppliers — must be entered into SquareCoil before the job leaves the shop. This information is used for costing, closeout, and future reference. Incomplete material records create problems at invoicing. SquareCoil Training · Module 06: Inputting Materials →

3Set the Manufacturing Completion Date in Project StatusOnce manufacturing is finished, update the manufacturing completion date in Project Status. This should reflect the actual date fabrication was completed — not when it was scheduled. This date signals to the PM and install team that the job is ready to move forward.
The Quality Check must be completed before any fabricated items leave the shop. This is the last opportunity to catch errors before they become install problems. Manufacturing jobs have additional requirements beyond the standard Low Complexity quality check — those are called out below.
-
1Confirm All Items Match the Design SheetCompare every fabricated item against the design sheet. Check dimensions, materials, and finish. Anything that doesn't match the design sheet needs to be corrected before the job is cleared. Don't rely on memory — review the actual design sheet side by side.
-
2Confirm All Items Meet Zeon's Quality StandardsDo a thorough visual and structural check of every item. Look for clean welds, consistent paint or vinyl application, proper illumination (if applicable), and overall structural integrity. Items that wouldn't pass a customer's review should not leave the shop.
-
3Verify All Items Match the Permit and Engineering SpecsManufacturing jobs must match the permit-approved plans and engineering specifications exactly — not just the design sheet. A sign that doesn't match the stamped plans will fail inspection.Manufacturing only. This step applies to Manufacturing jobs. Low Complexity jobs skip this step.
-
4Confirm External Disconnect Switches are Installed on All Illuminated SignsAll illuminated signs on Manufacturing jobs are required to have external disconnect switches installed. Verify each one is in place and take photos to document them.Manufacturing only. Take photos of the disconnect switches before the job leaves the shop.
-
5Confirm UL Labels are Affixed and Verified on All Illuminated SignsAll illuminated signs on Manufacturing jobs must have UL labels properly affixed and verified before leaving the shop. Take photos to document each label.Manufacturing only. Take photos of the UL labels before the job leaves the shop.

6Upload Quality Check Photos to SquareCoilUpload all quality check photos to SquareCoil. This includes the general finished-product photos for Low Complexity jobs, and the additional disconnect switch and UL label photos for Manufacturing jobs. Quality check photos must be in SquareCoil before the job is cleared to ship. SquareCoil Training · Module 04: Uploading Photos →
